‘SPRINGER’ GUY NOW ‘SURVIVOR’

SOME would say that having been the in-house counsel for “The Jerry Springer Show” might very well be one of the toughest jobs for those with law degrees.

But the talk-show TV’s former lawyer, 40-year-old Chicago attorney Andrew Savage, may find that his former gig may have given him just the training he needs for “Survivor: Pearl Islands,” his former boss told the Chicago Sun-Times.

“Working for my show obviously qualifies you for survivorship,” Springer said in the interview.

Savage, who took the job not knowing he’d be working on Springer’s show when he joined in 1998, took on a highly publicized case for the show in 1999.

Springer characterized the case as “pretty silly.” It challenged whether the fights on the show were staged or not.

“Survivor: Pearl Islands” premieres on CBS at 8 p.m., Sept. 18.
