The driver had stopped at the corner of Stone Avenue and New Lots Avenue, where a passenger got out of his car.

Another man entered the vehicle, pulled a weapon and took money from the driver’s shirt pocket and fled.

Two suspects – believed to be part of a team of a half-dozen bandits – were arrested in connection with a botched armored van hold-up, police said yesterday.

The incident unfolded at 7:40 p.m. Friday, at 1200 Liberty Ave. in East New York, as an employee for an armored van company exited his truck to make a drop in a night depository, police said.

He was approached by a man armed with a handgun who ordered him back into his van as five others stood by, police said.

The victim refused, and a struggle followed during which one shot was fired, possibly striking the initial suspect.

That suspect and his five cohorts fled in a green Nissan Altima that was recovered a short time later, along with a two loaded guns, a .22-caliber revolver and a .45-caliber semi-automatic.

Two of the six suspects were arrested – but the initial gunman and two other accomplices are still at large, police said.

Arrested were Michael Roberts, 17, and Earl Harriston, 25, both of Brooklyn.

They were charged with attempted robbery and criminal possession of a weapon.
