Julia Roberts has come out swinging against the gossip that her marriage to cameraman Danny Moder is in trouble – calling the rumor mill “the evil beast.”
“I feel like my marriage is so special, and there are no holes to poke in it,” Roberts tells the December issue of InStyle magazine (below), which features her on its cover (left).
“So when people do stuff like that, or try to be nosy about my relationship with Danny, I guess I feel like he’s an innocent bystander … It’s not fair to him.”
The 36-year-old Oscar-winner – who divorced Lyle Lovett and wed the 34-year-old cinematographer after he dumped his wife – insists all of the negative talk “exists in a land removed from us.”
Roberts, star of the upcoming flick “Mona Lisa Smile,” says she and Moder basically live a peaceful life of domestic bliss on a sprawling New Mexico ranch with their 10 dogs, and worry about such odd things as funky toilets.
“Here’s a really sophomoric example: In our house … there is a terrible bathroom – awful. Well, we’re finally redoing it,” the Pretty Woman says.
“This sounds so stupid, but not long ago, it never would have occurred to me to make this change.”
