DENIS’ ‘RESCUE’

HERE’S a first look at “Rescue Me,” a new dramatic comedy about New York City firefighters from snark-meister Denis Leary.

Leary and a few cast members – at least one is a former member of New York’s Bravest – were in Brooklyn Saturday to start filming scenes for the show, slated to debut on FX later this summer.

On the show, Leary plays a New York firefighter who struggles with personal and professional issues, including the post-9/11 fears that plague him and his colleagues.

He works in a firehouse in Harlem, but the show plans to film on-location all over the city.

In real life, Leary has an affinity for fire fighters.

Since 9/11 he’s raised more than $3 million for his own fire fighter-related charity.
