ROSENBERG’S WFAN RETURN UP IN AIR

After meeting with WFAN executives yesterday, the suspended Sid Rosenberg still doesn’t know when he will be back on the air.

Rosenberg – who is the sports sidekick on “Imus in the Morning” and co-hosts a mid-morning talk show on WFAN – was indefinitely suspended last week after failing to show up for work Thursday. The previous night, Rosenberg told associates he was going out with his cousin, Sen. Norm Coleman (R-Minn.), who was in town for the Republican Convention.

After staying out very late, Rosenberg did not report to work. A little before 7 a.m. Thursday, Mark Chernoff, the station’s program director, called Rosenberg at home, instructing him to show up. Rosenberg still did not. Shortly after, he was suspended indefinitely.

All indications at this time are that Rosenberg is not in danger of losing either of his jobs.

Though Rosenberg’s absence was mentioned once on last Thursday’s Imus show, WFAN is trying to downplay the issue, not wanting it to be an on-air topic.

“It’s an internal matter and we are going to deal with it internally,” WFAN GM Lee Davis said.

While Rosenberg did not return a phone call yesterday, his agent, Mark Lepselter is hopeful to have a resolution today.

“I’m still working with FAN management to rectify the situation,” Lepselter said. “I’m optimistic that we will be able to come to an amicable conclusion in the next 24 hours.”
