DAD TRIED ‘PUNCHING’ DEATH TOT OUT OF SEIZURE: COPS

The sicko dad whose 3-year-old son turned up dead in a bag on a Queens church’s steps gave cops a chilling account of how he brutally tried to stop the toddler’s seizure by shaking him up and down and punching him in the chest, police sources said yesterday.

The father, William Lee, 38, turned himself in Friday night to cops, admitting he had dumped the body at the church because he regretted burying the battered tot in a shallow grave in an abandoned Queens lot.

The source said that on Sept. 9, Lee was baby-sitting his four kids while his wife, Anne Marie Mackey, was out.

He said that his youngest son, Marcus, was having a “a seizure and that he started shaking him [Marcus] up and down and snapping him back and forth,” the source said.

The source said, “He [Lee] put him in cold water then in hot water and was trying to wake him,” although the boy seemed more in a stupor than sleeping.

“He started punching the boy in the chest and may have punched him too hard,” the source said. He then put the boy in the crib.

Lee said that when his wife returned home he told her the boy had died in his sleep.

But the mom later told cops that when she went to look at her son she saw bruises and red welts, the source said.

She said she was too terrified to report the abusive hubby to cops.

Instead she and the three other kids, one of whom witnessed Marcus’ death, said prayers over his body and kept him at home for several days.

Lee told his friend he had been too scared to call cops or an ambulance because he faces several outstanding warrants for drugs.
