EXES TRASH CAPE COD MURDER SUSPECT

HYANNIS, Mass. – The garbageman busted in the fatal stabbing of Cape Cod fashion writer Christa Worthington is a violent two-timing creep who fathered three kids by three women, two of the moms say.

“He’s a good liar as far as other women are concerned . . . He’s definitely a big cheater,” Kelly Tabor, the mother of Christopher McCowen’s 4-year-old daughter, Misty, told The Post.

Tabor, 29, who broke up with McCowen two years after Worthington’s murder on Jan. 6, 2002, said she’d once gotten a restraining order him because he had “an anger problem.”

Still, she doesn’t believe he could have killed Worthington, who was found dead on the kitchen floor of her Truro home with her traumatized daughter, Ava, clinging to her body.

“He’s not the best person in the world, but he’d give you the shirt off his back. There are a hundred men on the cape that have a 10-times-worse record than he does,” she said.

“If he did something major, I’d know it.”

But Amy Lynn Smith, the mom of another of his kids, told The Cape Cod Times, “I was thinking back to some of the arguments we had. I was, like, ‘That could have been me.’ Definitely creepy.”

Smith said she’d obtained a restraining order against McCowen for breaking her car window.

“He was definitely intimidating. I can’t say that [the arrest] surprises me,” she said

McCowen, 33, has pleaded not guilty to murder, aggravated rape and armed assault in the Worthington case and is being held without bail.

He had collected the trash of the 46-year-old journalist in the months before her death.

He was linked to the murder by DNA.
