Dear Hosts,
The amazing aspect of 1050-ESPN Radio’s Mike & Mike in the Morning is that they actually are likeable. Unlike other Mikes (read: Francesa) on sports radio, Mike Greenberg & Mike Golic don’t act as if they invented the medium.
Greenberg and Golic also go against one of the biggest tenets of being a successful talk-radio host – they don’t pretend to know everything.
On Mike & the Mad Dog, the hosts – Francesa and Chris Russo – act as if they are all-knowing, despite the fact they are often 180 degrees wrong.
Greenberg and Golic don’t resort to fakeouts. Instead, they offer opinions and use self-deprecation. They have even said, “I don’t know” before.
Mike & Mike is just friendly, intelligent sports conversation.
Other talks shows should follow their path of refreshingly arrogant-free radio.
