COP HONCHO ELECTROCUTED

A top police official was electrocuted last night while making repairs to his home yesterday, authorities said.

Inspector Michael Shortell, 46, who lived in Rockland County, commanded the Bronx Narcotics unit.

He was pronounced dead at Nyack Hospital, where he was taken after the accident.

Shortell, a cop for 26 years, “was well liked by everybody who worked for him,” said an officer who served in his command.

“He was a rising star in the department. He will be sorely missed.”

Shortell leaves his wife and three children.

His cousin is a deputy inspector.
