A man found dead on a Long Island street was accidentally shot and killed by his partner in crime, Suffolk County Police said yesterday.
Anthony Jenkins, 35, was found in Bellport the night of May 15 with a gunshot wound to the neck.
Detectives were baffled until finding that he had taken part in a robbery with Anton Reid, 21, of Brentwood.
Police said Reid was in the middle of the burglary and was about to shoot one of the residents. But somehow he wound up firing at Jenkins, who stumbled out into the street and bled to death.
Reid was arrested Thursday and charged with manslaughter yesterday.
