MUSIC STUDIO IN HAND

The next time you hear some lunatic bellowing out a song on your commute home, don’t assume they’re insane – there’s a chance they may be recording the next No. 1 song.

San Francisco-based Definitive Studios has recently released “Traxxpad: Portable Studio,” a game for aspiring musicians for PlayStationPortable which provides the meat and potatoes of an actual recording studio that is held in your palm.

The game, which will be distributed through Eidos Interactive LTD, comes equipped with over 1000 stock sounds ranging from a drum machine to a four-track mixer.

“We made something accessible for everyone,” said Troy San Jose, one of the developers. “There’s enough technical depth in the game to teach people how to use some of the equipment that’s in an actual studio. It’s a scratch pad for music tracks.”

Once crafted, the song can be exported into an MP3 or WAV file and transferred into any professional studio environment.
