Having done such a good job turning Britney Spears into a fine and upstanding young woman, the pop tart’s mom, Lynne, yesterday announced plans to pen a book about parenting – just as her daughter fought to get back custody of her own kids.
Lynne Spears’ “Pop Culture Mom: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World” will be about her raising three children and will have a religious element, said a spokesman for religious publisher Thomas Nelson.
Meanwhile, mommy weirdest Britney (in artist’s sketch at left) appeared in a Los Angeles courtroom in a battle with ex-husband Kevin Federline for custody of their two young sons.
The judge in the case delayed his ruling until next week but did give Britney a day with the kids, over the weekend, said Federline’s lawyer, Mark Kaplan.
“Everything’s fantastic,” crowed Spears’ lawyer, Anne Kiley.
Britney, 25, showed up at the courthouse in a white Mercedes convertible wearing a black party dress and cowgirl boots.
Before the custody hearing she won a motion that would bar videotaping of depositions in the case.
Lawyer Thomas Paine Dunlap said videos are likely to wind up on YouTube, and that she has a right to be protected.
Earlier this month the family-court judge, apparently angered by Spears’ irresponsible parenting and relentless partying, yanked the 50/50 physical custody she had of the couple’s sons Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1, and ordered the kids turned over to their dad.
