JUDGE BEGS MCGREEVEYS

After hours of trying to talk sense into the warring McGreeveys, a visibly frustrated New Jersey divorce judge yesterday threw up her hands and begged them to consider their 5-year-old daughter.

“Please, please, please, think of her,” implored Judge Karen Cassidy, who had ordered gay former Gov. Jim McGreevey and estranged wife Dina to the settlement conference in Elizabeth.

Cassidy was most concerned about Dina’s insistence on a jury trial in her separate suit against McGreevey, in which the couple’s dirty laundry is likely to be aired.

McGreevey’s lawyer, Matthew Piermatti, said he’s ready to “vigorously” defend the Love Gov against charges of fraud.

“What I tried to do today was prevent all that [the couple’s private life] from coming out,” Cassidy said.

The McGreeveys also remain at a standoff over child custody.
