A cop shot and wounded a gunman yesterday after the suspect fired at the officer with a TEC-9 machine gun on a Saint Albans street, police said.

The off-duty cop was walking with a correction officer, a Department of Transportation employee and others near Farmers and Linden boulevards at around 2 a.m., when they stumbled on four men beating up another man.

When the cop identified himself and tried to stop the attack, one of the four pulled the heavy-duty firearm and started shooting at the officer and his pals, cops said. None was hit.

The cop fired back, wounding the gunman in his left arm and leg.

The four suspects managed to flee, but police tracked down two of them, including the gunman, at a Nassau County hospital.

An emotionally disturbed man socked a woman in the face behind a Long Island City storage facility, law-enforcement sources said yesterday.

Antonio Coloma, 52, allegedly punched the victim for no apparent reason behind Public Storage on Northern Boulevard near 36th Avenue at 3 p.m. on July 6, cops said. Responding officers confronted Coloma after noticing several windows shattered on buildings and cars near the crime scene, cops said.

Coloma, brandishing a lead pipe, told police, “I smashed all these windows instead of killing her,” authorities said.

He was taken to a hospital for psychiatric evaluation and charged with assault, criminal mischief and criminal possession of a weapon.

A man was busted for bashing a co-worker in the head with a wrench, authorities said yesterday.

Zhuo Xuefeng, 30, clashed with the 27-year- old man on Main Street and 41st Road in Flushing at about 9 p.m. on July 6, cops said. During the dispute, Xuefeng allegedly clubbed the victim, inflicting minor lacerations.

The suspect was charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon, said a spokeswoman for DA Richard Brown.

A man attacked a woman aboard a party boat on Long Island Sound off East Elmhurst, authorities said yesterday.

Omar Wallace, 30, allegedly smashed a bottle over head of the 34-year-old victim aboard the Half Moon early July 6.

He then threatened the woman, saying, “If you call the police, I will shoot you in the head,” sources said.

When the boat docked at the World’s Fair Marina in Flushing, Wallace allegedly began taunting the woman. Cops were called and Wallace was charged with assault and harassment, the DA’s spokesman said.

Thugs swiped cellphones and MP3 players from two children after stalking them at a Glendale mall, cops said yesterday.

Michael Feathers, 17, his brother, Anthony, 16, and Jos̩ Miguel, 16, began following their 12-year-old victims Рa girl and a boy Рat Atlas Park shopping center at around 9 p.m. last Tuesday, sources said.

One of the suspects grabbed the girl’s phone and iPod from her back pocket, cops said.

Then Miguel allegedly snatched another phone from the boy and fled with his accomplices. Police arrested the teens, who were charged with petit larceny, stalking and harassment.

Brooklyn

An off-duty corrections officer shot and wounded a man trying to steal his motorcycle last night in Brooklyn, authorities said.

The gunfire erupted at 11:30 a.m. on Avenue T at East 11th Street in Midwood. The gunshot victim was taken to Kings County Hospital; the off-duty guard went to Lutheran Hospital for trauma, cops said. The off-duty’s name was not immediately released. A motorist was arrested for clubbing a cabby during a road-rage incident in Cobble Hill, authorities said yesterday.

Frankie Guzman, 48, argued with the taxi driver at Amity and Hicks streets at around 6:30 a.m. last Thursday after they wouldn’t allow each other to switch lanes, cops said.

After they both pulled over, Guzman allegedly slammed the cabby in the face with The Club, an anti-theft device.

An officer driving by was flagged down by witnesses and arrested Guzman, who was charged with assault and weapon possession.

The victim suffered severe facial swelling.

Staten Island

A teen who claimed he was armed for protection was arrested in Rosebank, cops said yesterday.

Christopher Reyes, 19, wearing all black clothing with a black handkerchief around his neck, was walking on Bay Street near Virginia Avenue Thursday night, when cops became suspicious and stopped him, sources said.

The officers allegedly recovered four illegal martial-arts throwing stars, along with a boxcutter.

Reyes allegedly told cops that he was carrying the weapons for protection because he had been jumped. He was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, according to a spokesman for DA Daniel Donovan.

A motorist was arrested after he ripped off a Grasmere gas-station attendant, authorities said yesterday.

Matthew Ferrante, 30, filled up his tank at the BP station on Richmond Road near Targee Street at 12:30 p.m. on June 29, sources said. He then allegedly asked the attendant to change a $100 bill. As the attendant counted out $80, Ferrante snatched the bills, jumped back in his car and sped off, sources said.

Police tracked him down Thursday and he was charged with grand larceny.
