JAYSON GETS LUCKY ‘PASS’

Former NBA star Jayson Williams dodged another bullet yesterday when a judge shot down a bid to sentence him on lesser charges before his scheduled January retrial for a limo driver’s killing.

“The better choice is to not sentence before all of the evidence is heard,” said Judge Edward Coleman at a Somerville, NJ, court hearing.

Hunterdon County prosecutors had cited Williams’ recent erratic behavior in asking that the former New Jersey Net be sentenced within the month on charges related to a cover-up in Costas “Gus” Christofi’s death.

That behavior includes a suicidal outburst in May at a Manhattan hotel — where cops had to Taser and then hospitalize Williams — and his later arrest for fighting in a North Carolina bar.
