Halladay done with trade talk

Roy Halladay would not talk about trade possibilities today after pitching for the first time since the Blue Jays said they would listen to offers for their ace.

“I addressed that once, and that’s all I’m going to do until I have to,” Halladay said. “It’s nothing that I can control, and I’m not going to worry about it.”

Halladay (10-3) lost to the Rays, 3-2, pitching for the first time since Toronto general manager J.P. Ricciardi said he’s taking offers for the five-time All-Star.

Halladay allowed three runs and nine hits in seven innings.

The right-hander responded earlier this week to Ricciardi’s comments by saying he wants to keep pitching in Toronto but is willing to consider accepting a trade. He said the situation was not a distraction against the Rays.

The Phillies are thought to be the favorites to land the 32-year-old, whose contract is up after the 2010 season.
