POST SCRIBE’S MOM DIES

Sarra Delfiner, the mother of New York Post reporter Rita Delfiner, died Saturday. She was 96.

Sarra Delfiner was born in Russia and was an acclaimed concert pianist in Vienna during the 1930s before leaving Austria for the United States in 1938.

She performed in an international piano competition in her homeland, finishing in second place.

Her favorite composer was Frederic Chopin, the 19th-century Polish virtuoso pianist.

Delfiner gave up serious piano playing to raise her family in New York.

She is also survived by Walter Delfiner, her husband of 71 years, her daughter, Tamara, and a brother, Grisha Arad.

A graveside funeral service is scheduled for today.
