No news is still good news for the Twins, on the Joe Mauer front.
After Mauer’s agent, Ron Shapiro, flew into Fort Myers to talk to Twins representatives on March 4 there has been no word on progress of a contract extension for the reigning MVP.
But sources tell Fox Sports that talks “are not stalled by any means.”
The Twins have three weeks before the regular season starts, which is the likely deadline for a deal to get done and to keep the likes of the Yankees and Red Sox from getting involved next offseason.
