On last night’s episode of “Breaking Bad,” Skyler (Anna Gunn) got even with a stunned Walt (Bryan Cran ston). Walt’s brother-in- law, DEA agent Hank Schrader (Dean Norris), meanwhile showed some big cracks in his steely façade related to his disastrous re-assignment (last season) to El Paso, where he survived an ambush by a Mexican drug cartel.

“This season is such an in teresting character study of what people do, and the choices they make when they’re put in positions that are impossible, really,” Gunn told me recently. “Everybody [in the show] experiences that . . . and this season Hank’s character really starts to go through that. But this isn’t just the story of Hank’s ‘breaking bad’ — it’s how ev eryone else ‘breaks bad’ in their own ways.”
