Body of missing LI woman found; man arrested

The body of a missing North Patchogue woman missing for two months has been found and the man charged in connection with her death has been arrested, police said.

Suffolk County police arrested Chad Johnson, who is being held without bail on murder charges. Police believe Johnson hired 26-year-old Jennifer Papain for sex back in March and killed her.

Prosecutors say that Johnson admitted the killing to them, but he has plead not guilty at his arraigment in Suffolk County Court.

Johnson’s attorney, William Ferris, stated that his client has a “very strong defense,” but had no further comments.

Papain, had been missing since March 24. Her body was found late Monday night in a wooded area off the North Long Island Expressway Service Road, just west of Bellport Road in Medford. Police said that Johnson led them to a shallow grave where Papain’s remains were located.

Papain was last seen when she and a friend drove Papain’s father’s car to Bay Shore, about 20 miles away from where there the body was found. She left the car at 5:30 p.m. that evening while her fiend waited for her in the car, and was never seen again, police said.

Johnson is also being charged with patronizing a prostitute, driving without a license, and marijuana possession.
