A man was arrested today in the mysterious death of his girlfriend, officials said.
Cynthia Lopez, 29, was found unconscious and unresponsive in her Sunset Park apartment by an EMS unit that responded to a 911 call for a woman who was not breathing.
The medical examiner’s office will determine the cause of death. Sources said there were bruises on the woman’s neck.
There were no signs of forced entry at the 50th Street apartment.
A relative of the man who was arrested said there may have been a fight over the boyfriend’s accusations that Lopez was cheating on him. The relative said the pair — parents of a 3-year-old girl — had a stormy, off-and-on relationship.
