Serena, Venus to return

LONDON — The Williams sisters are coming back — and not a moment too soon for the sake of U.S. tennis.

Serena and Venus Williams will begin their comebacks at a grass-court tournament in Eastbourne, England next week, and are scheduled to play Wimbledon starting June 20.

Serena has not played an official match since winning at the All England Club last July. A few days after that victory, Serena cut her foot on glass at a restaurant. She wound up having two operations to repair that injury and later was treated for a blood clot in her lung. Venus has been sidelined since injuring her hip in January.
