Giants expect ‘dogfight’ from Eagles

The Giants have a chance to deliver a knockout blow to the Eagles’ hopes for a NFC East title when they play the supposed “Dream Team” Sunday night at MetLife Stadium.

But the Giants also know that their rivals won’t go down without a fight.

“We look at it like they’re gonna give us everything,” Hakeem Nicks said Tuesday at the Community FoodBank of New Jersey in Hillside, where several Giants helped unload donated turkeys.

Nicks added that he was feeling fine after returning to the lineup for the Giants’ 27-20 loss to the 49ers in San Francisco on Sunday after missing the previous game with a hamstring injury. “They’re gonna come out with a chip on their shoulders, so we’re just gonna have to go out there and play well.

“It’s a big rivalry, so we know it’s gonna be a dogfight until the end of the game.”

The Giants still lead the Cowboys by a game in the NFC East, and a win against Philadelphia would give the Giants a season sweep over the Eagles. It also would put them four games ahead of Philadelphia with six weeks left.

The Giants also are aware that they can ill afford to drop a home game during their toughest stretch of the season. The Giants are in the midst of facing five teams with a winning record in six weeks, with four of those on the road.

“We’ve got a pretty tough schedule coming up these next few weeks, but we’re just taking it … one week at a time,” tight end Bear Pascoe said. “We know the Eagles … playing them twice a year, they know what we’re gonna do, and we know what they’re gonna do.”
