Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist missed his scheduled start Tuesday night against the Carolina Hurricanes because of the flu.
Backup Martin Biron started in goal against the Hurricanes.
Lundqvist has a record of 32-14-5 with a 1.88 goals-against average. Biron is 11-4-2 in 18 appearances with a 2.25 GAA.
The Rangers called up Chad Johnson from Connecticut of the AHL to back up Biron.
