Jurors gasp at photos of slain girl, 4

It was a peek inside little Marchella’s house of horrors.

Jurors at the Brooklyn murder trial of the mother accused of starving, beating and drugging Marchella Brett-Pierce to death were shown ghastly photos yesterday of the bruised and skeletal 4-year-old and the child’s SpongeBob bed, where her limbs were strapped to the posts.

The images from the dingy Bedford-Stuyvesant apartment of Marchella’s battered, stick-thin body — with all of her ribs visible — caused jurors to gasp as they got their first close look at the little girl who weighed just 18.9 pounds when she died in September 2010.

“That’s a close-up view of the toddler’s face,” retired crime-scene Detective Greg Anzalone said matter-of-factly as jurors were shown a photo of the dead girl’s two black eyes.

Carlotta Brett-Pierce is accused of murdering the sickly child, who was less than half the size of a normal child her age.
