Bin Laden doc railroaded: kin

PESHAWAR, Pakistan — The family of Shakil Afridi, the Pakistani doctor sentenced to 33 years in prison for helping the United States track down Osama bin Laden, said yesterday that he is innocent and dismissed his trial as a sham.

Afridi’s brother Jamil and two of his lawyers said they will appeal the guilty verdict reached in a tribal court.

“This was a one-sided decision,” said Jamil. “All allegations against him are false. He didn’t do anything against [Pakistan’s] national interest.”
