Early-morning fire destroys Bronx home

Firefighters battled a 4-alarm blaze this morning that destroyed a home in the Bronx, authorities said.

The fire broke out at 6:21 a.m. inside of a house on East 184th Street near Walton Avenue, said a spokesman for the FDNY.

The flames raged on until 8:05 a.m. when the firefighters were able to place the fire under control, officials said.

Four firefighters sustained minor injuries and were taken to North Central Hospital for treatment, said a spokesman for the FDNY. One civilian was also injured, but refused medical attention, officials said.
