Falcons’ Samuel says Eagles coach Reid snubbed him

It seems like every step Andy Reid takes this season is a wrong one.

The Eagles coach watched as his team dropped to 3-4 with a 30-17 loss to the Falcons on Sunday, and his former cornerback Asante Samuel, now with Atlanta, thought the Reid snubbed him after the game.

“Andy Reid, why didn’t you speak to me?” Samuel told reporters, via CSNPhilly.com. “What did I do to you man? I got nothing but love for you Big Red. . . . He wouldn’t speak to me, man, can you believe that? As happy as I am, he wouldn’t even tell me ‘Great game Asante, I love ya man.’”

It was the first time Samuel had faced his old team, which traded him in April for just a seventh-round pick. The four-time Pro Bowler has one interception this year and 46 picks over his 10-year career. Samuel, 31, played four years in Philadelphia under Reid, starting in 2008.

“Can you believe that?” Samuel said about the alleged disrespect from his old coach. “He didn’t speak to me. Like it’s my fault, like what did I do to you? You know what I meant? I think it was the way we was dancing out there; it got to him a little bit.”

The Falcons took it to the Eagles, who were playing their first game under new defensive coordinator Todd Bowles. Atlanta quarterback Matt Ryan went 22-for-29 for 262 yards and three touchdowns, and the combination of running backs Jacquizz Rodgers and Michael Turner ran for 118 yards.

“The difference between these teams?” Samuel said. “I think it’s the coaching. We got really good coaching, we run the ball.”
