Prabal Gurung

The Who: Eve rocked head-to-toe black, while Jaime King dressed for Nemo in wintry shades of silver and white.

The What: The Gurung girl is all about her imperial skirt suit with a supremely fierce twist: structured peplums popped from embellished military-inspired suiting, while black leather harnesses anchored silk gowns that were modest in the front, but finished with a dominatrix-like open back. Aviator sunglasses, epaulets and mid-thigh-high buckled loafer booties (we’re not sure what to name these quite yet) juxtaposed with softly draped dresses proved the young designer’s mix-mastery of hard and soft in the most spectacularly bad-ass fashion.

The Highlight: A red “folkloric” denim peplum pantsuit made for a cool optical illusion as it flounced down the runway.

The Takeaway: Luxe will be the Gurung lady come fall.
