ESPN’er babbles to grads

You won’t see this highlight on “SportsCenter.”

ESPN’s catchphrase king, Chris Berman, gave a rumblin’, bumblin’, stumblin’ commencement speech last week.

According to graduates and guests at Connecticut’s Greenwich HS, Berman rambled incessantly for nearly 45 minutes.

“The whole thing just seemed like he wasn’t sure what to even say,” Eric Kropp, who was attending his sister’s graduation Friday, told Deadspin.com, a sports Web site.

After Berman told “one final story,” the weary crowd actually cheered.

Berman, who was born in Greenwich, maintains strong ties to the community, said John Wildhack, the network’s executive vice president for production.

“We are proud to have him represent us,” Wildhack said.
