Get ready for … Batman ’66 Week!

We started this blog with Zero Week, which led up to the latest and greatest Batman project, “Zero Year” from DC Comics.

Now, as we hurtle toward our ONE MONTH ANNNIVERSARY, we go back to where it all started for Little Daniel Greenfield – the 1960s “Batman” TV show starring Adam West, Burt Ward and a cast of thousands.

Starting Monday, we’ll be bringing you daily coverage of Batman ’66, as it’s come to be known, with exclusives from DC Comics, merch reports, an interview with one of the show’s most memorable cast members and even a report from the air above Gotham City!

Why are we doing this now?

Well, this was the show that started it all for a generation of comics fans and after being shunned as too campy and unserious for a long time, it’s come back full circle as one of the hippest iterations of Batman ever.

Sadly, the show remains unavailable on legal video because of a rights conundrum too complicated for even the Riddler to solve. But the powers that be in various quarters have struck a merchandising deal that means we’ll soon be able to buy everything from action figures to comics to clothes to prints to, well, pretty much anything but video. (Bat-fingers crossed that something will be announced at San Diego Comic-Con!)

The latest wave of ‘60s Batmania is just about to hit — so put on your cape and yellow baggies and surf into summer with us with Batman ’66 Week!
