‘Gone Girl’ takes NYC library’s top 2013 check-out spot

The New York Public Library’s most frequently checked out novel in 2013 was “Gone Girl” by suspense writer Gillian Flynn.

In the nonfiction category, “Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will to Lead” by Facebook’s Sheryl Sandberg took the top spot.

The library released its 2013 top 10 circulating adult titles for each category on Tuesday.

“The Casual Vacancy,” the first adult book by Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling, was No.2 on the fiction list.

Other novels included “Inferno” by Dan Brown and “And the Mountains Echoed” by Khaled Hosseini.

“Fifty Shades of Grey” by E.L. James was No. 7.

Other nonfiction titles included “My Beloved World,” a memoir by US Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, and “Steve Jobs” by Walter Isaacson.

Tina Fey’s autobiographical “Bossypants” was No. 8.
