As speculated, Emma Stone is due to replace Michelle Williams as Sally Bowles in Broadway’s “Cabaret” for a limited run beginning Nov. 11. Alan Cumming is staying put as the Emcee, making this two pieces of perfectly marvelous news in one announcement.
We already know the immensely likable Stone is an expert lip-syncer and devoted Spice Girls fan.
Her singing is more of an unknown quantity, though there’s a hopeful clue in the movie “Easy A,” in which Stone sells “Knock on Wood” like nobody’s business.
