Bratton gave up millions to become NYPD commissioner

Bill Bratton raked in up to $1.9 million the year before returning to his post as NYPD commissioner — making him one of several high-flying administrators who took massive pay cuts to serve the public.

Bratton’s haul in 2013 included up to $500,000 for consulting services at Bratton Group LLC, more than $500,000 in severance for consulting at Kroll Advisory Solutions, and more than $500,000 for serving on the board of Motorola, according to personal financial statements filed with the Conflict of Interests Board.

TV appearances on NBC and speeches and royalties from his two books brought Bratton up to $186,000. His earnings last year sat somewhere between $1.37 million and $1.92 million.

As commissioner of the country’s largest police force, Bratton now earns just over $205,000 a year.

Deputy Mayors Alicia Glen and Anthony Shorris, City Planning Chairman Carl Weisbrod and labor broker Bob Linn also hurt their bottom lines in order to help the city.

As an exec at the investment- banking firm of Goldman Sachs, Glen raked in over $500,000 plus bonuses before taking at least a $250,000 pay cut for her new gig in the de Blasio administration.

Shorris also shunned hefty private-sector wages, accepting at least $250,000 less when he moved from senior vice president at NYU Langone Medical Center to become first deputy mayor.
