A Long Island teenager’s dream ride in a Lamborghini ended in horror when he crashed into a guardrail early Friday — causing the car to completely break apart, police said.
Samuel Shepard, 18, was rushed to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police said that “excessive speed” was a factor in the crash.
Michael Power, 49, of Port Jefferson Station, was sitting in the passenger seat and treated for non-life threatening injuries at the same hospital. Power is a family friend who owned the swanky Italian sports car, according to Shepard’s brother Frank.
