Tastes of Milan and Tuscany coming to city early this year

There’s more than just red sauce to this Italian joint.

Mi Garba, which means “I like it” in Italian, will open a restaurant with a retail component in Union Square in early April.

The flagship 1,000 square-foot space, at 129 Fourth Ave., will include a restaurant with 10 tables. There will also be Tuscan food and wine for sale along with a boutique offering fashion items, including custom-made shirts and jackets.

The company has freshly prepared foods in supermarkets across Europe, but this is its first foray into the US.

The broker for the restaurant was PD Properties’ Francesco Bardazzi, who also repped another Italian export on its first store in the US.

Milan’s Gelato Giusto is opening at Ninth Avenue and 21st Street. It will include outdoor space and standing areas, in Milanese tradition, for folks who want to have their morning coffee and Italian pastries.
