Woman bit down on fishhook during fancy dinner: suit

This fish entree was a little too fresh.

A Manhattan woman is suing a Central Park South restaurant, saying she was snagged in the mouth by a fish hook when she bit down on her bronzini.

Aliona Russo was dining with her husband, Vincent, and a business associate at Villagio on the Park in August.

She ordered the whole bronzini — a Mediterranean sea bass — at the pricey restaurant which has hosted TV’s Geraldo Rivera, trainer-to-the-stars Tracy Anderson and socialite Angela Simmons.

She presumed the fish was “properly prepared” and took a bite near the head, according to her Manhattan Supreme Court lawsuit.

But then she felt something “unusual” and was shocked when she removed a two-inch-long piece of metal hook from her mouth.

“As other guests at the table looked on in awe, they documented the fact that the fish had been prepared and served with a large hook inside of it,” Russo, 57, says in her suit, which includes photos of the tainted meal.

The hook, which still had a small piece of fishing line attached, cut up Russo’s tongue, her attorney Jay Dankner told The Post.

“The worst part now is she’s freaking out,” Dankner added. “She can’t eat fish anymore because she has nightmares about this thing.”

Dankner said restaurant employees apologized profusely and picked up the bill for the couple, who live nearby and were regulars.

He said Russo went to a local medical clinic to treat the cut on her tongue.

Russo is suing for unspecified damages, including $1,000 in medical bills.

Alexander Kalas, owner of Villagio in New York and its outposts in Illinois and Florida, called the allegations “quite fishy.”

He said the suit was “extortion,” claiming that the Russos demanded $50,000 in exchange for their silence about the incident.

Dankner “categorically denied” the restaurateur’s claim.
