Rihanna stuns in Dior debut

Rihanna’s making history with her latest fashion campaign, as the first woman of color to star in a Dior advertisement. Meanwhile, Reese Witherspoon’s new lifestyle site, Draper James, is already selling out of some of its most popular clothing items.

-Rihanna’s already posed for Chanel, Balmain and even Puma — but now the 27-year-old singer can add Dior to her résumé, as the first woman of color to pose for the historic brand. Rihanna reveals that the ads, shot by photographer Steven Klein in March at the Palace of Versailles in Paris, are “such a big deal for me, for my culture, for a lot of young girls of any color. I think to be acknowledged by Dior means a lot, as a woman, to feel beautiful — to feel elegant and timeless.” [Telegraph]

-Just a week after debuting her new lifestyle site, Draper James, “Wild” actress Reese Witherspoon says several of her dresses have already sold out online. The most popular item on the website, which received more than 160,000 visitors on launch day alone, is a $155 tote bag imprinted with the words “Totes Y’all.” [WWD]

-Cool girl and sometimes-model, sometimes-actress Dree Hemingway has landed a fashion campaign of her own, as the new face of Chloe’s Eau de Parfum. It’s the first major beauty deal for Hemingway, whose fashion experience up to this point has included mostly runway shows. [Grazia]
