‘Fear the Walking Dead’ spins new Web series

The spinoff is getting spinoff.

Fear the Walking Dead,” which was spun off as a “companion series” to “The Walking Dead,” will add its own companion series on the Web.

The 16-episode streaming series, “Fear the Walking Dead: Flight 462,” will premiere Oct. 4 on amc.com — the same night “Fear the Walking Dead” ends its first season on AMC.

Following its Oct. 4 premiere, “Fear the Walking Dead: Flight 462” will air every Sunday during commercial breaks on “The Walking Dead,” which returns for its sixth season Oct. 11.

Each “462” episode, which will be less than one-minute long, will tell the story of a group of passengers aboard a commercial airliner during the earliest moments of the zombie apocalypse — the backdrop for both “Walking Dead” shows.

As the Web series progresses, the passengers will discover that one of them is infected as a zombie. As an added bonus, one of the “462” characters will appear next season on “Fear the Walking Dead.”
