Al Michaels is here to ruin your Deflategate gambling

You may have read last week on FOXSports.com that Bovada.lv was offering a prop bet on how many times “Deflategate” and its variations would be mentioned during Sunday’s Patriots-Colts game.

The exact wager went like this:

How many times will “Deflate,” “Deflated,” “Deflating,” or “Deflategate” be said during the live broadcast of the Pats/Colts game from kickoff to final whistle? (excluding halftime)

Over/Under: 2.5

NBC play-by-play man Al Michaels got wind of this news and took it upon himself to make the bet go over.

During a break in the action, Michaels said, “You know there’s an over/under out there on how many times we’ll say deflate tonight? Deflategate, Deflategate, Deflategate, Deflategate. Four. You won the over.”

You can watch the video here.

And in case you were wondering if Bovada would still pay out on the bet after Michaels’ antics, wonder no more. FOXSports.com got confirmation Monday morning from Bovada that all “over” bets were paid out.
