A man was killed Wednesday morning on a Long Island highway in a head-on collision with a drunken driver who was traveling in the wrong direction, officials said.

Christopher O’Brien, 54, of Port Jefferson Station, was driving his Audi east in the westbound lanes of Sunrise Highway near Shirley in Suffolk County when he crashed into a Toyota Corolla about 5:30 a.m., police said.

The Corolla driver, whose name is being withheld pending family notification, died at the scene.
