Three bouncers were shot at a Bronx lounge and hookah bar early Sunday after preventing a group of men from entering the establishment, police said.
The bouncers were working at Club Praia when they stopped the group from entering the club at 1805 Carter Ave. about 4:40 a.m.
But the men returned to the hot spot with guns and opened fire.
A 35-year-old bouncer took a slug to the back and taken by ambulance to St. Barnabas Hospital. He was expected to survive.
The two other bouncers were shot in their legs.
A 27-year-old was hit in the left leg and taken by ambulance to Lincoln Hospital. A 31-year-old was hit in the right leg and went to Bronx Lebanon Hospital by private means.
The club is described on Google as a “Lively lounge with flashy decor offering cocktails & a shisha bar, plus DJs & a compact dance floor.”
