Odell Beckham problem is following John Mara everywhere

VATICAN CITY — The volatile nature of Odell Beckham Jr. is on John Mara’s mind at a Vatican conference on faith and sport.

The Giants president, CEO and co-owner discussed at the conference on Thursday the receiver’s latest outbursts on the sidelines.

Mara told the Associated Press, “He’s a young man who is very emotional, but he’s basically a very good young man who does a lot of good things off the field. But he plays the game with a lot of passion and sometimes he goes a little too far.”

Mara added, “But that’s true with a lot of players. Unfortunately for him, it seems like everybody’s focused on him right now.”

Beckham’s antics were on full display in the Giants’ 24-10 loss to the Minnesota Vikings on Monday night, and since have been dissected by coach Ben McAdoo, former coach Tom Coughlin, quarterback Eli Manning and opponents such as Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall.
