‘Kidnapped’ teen’s dad files for divorce, requests restraining order from wife

The dad of the Tennessee teen who was allegedly kidnapped by her teacher has filed for divorce and requested a restraining order from his wife of 30 years.

Anthony Thomas, 49, filed for divorce Monday from 48-year-old Kimberly Thomas just days after their daughter Elizabeth Thomas was found safe in Northern California.

Irreconcilable differences were cited in court documents, according to The Tennessean.

Anthony Thomas was granted a restraining order that prevents his estranged wife from talking to the media about their daughter’s alleged kidnapping.

Elizabeth went missing in early March after allegedly being abducted by her teacher Tad Cummins, who was charged with aggravated kidnapping and sexual contact with a minor.

“We are afraid of [Kimberly] Thomas giving interviews or speaking,” Anthony Thomas’ lawyer Cory Ricci told The Tennessean. “If it airs, Elizabeth will be terrified. She’s very, very scared of her mother.”

Anthony Thomas also requested another restraining order from his wife to prevent her from seeing their kids. In addition to Elizabeth, the pair has nine other children together.

The couple has been separated since November 2015, according to court documents.
