Impatient Uber rider tried to walk through Holland Tunnel

An impatient Uber rider was so fed up with stalled traffic in the Holland Tunnel Friday morning that he hopped out of his taxi and walk through the congested tube, officials said.

Jonathan H. Jenks, 26, of Hoboken, was riding from Manhattan to New Jersey around 1 a.m. when the passenger of another vehicle had a medical emergency, a law-enforcement source said.

Cops performed CPR on the 22-year-old passenger — whose dad was at the wheel — but he couldn’t be saved, the source said. The roadway was closed to traffic, creating an instant traffic jam.

Jenks couldn’t be bothered by the wait, so he decided to get out of the Uber and walk out of the tunnel on foot, officials said.

Jenks — whose eyes are half-shut in his police mugshot — was arrested and charged with defiant trespass, according to Port Authority Police. He was released on a summons.

“The cops were dealing with a tragedy, trying to keep this guy alive, and at the same time they’re having to deal with this a–hole,” the source said.

Besides the Uber driver, it wasn’t clear if anyone else was inside the car where Jenks was a passenger.

It also wasn’t clear whether Jenks was intoxicated during his jaunt through the tunnel.
