Stuntwoman identified in fatal crash on ‘Deadpool 2’ set

A Brooklyn stuntwoman was killed in a motorcycle accident Monday on the set of “Deadpool 2” in Vancouver, officials said.

Professional motorcycle racer Joi “SJ” Harris was performing a stunt for actress Zazie Beetz, who plays the superhero Domino in the sequel to the 2016 Marvel flick.

“Today we tragically lost a member of our crew while filming Deadpool,” star Ryan Reynolds tweeted after the crash. “We’re heartbroken, shocked and devastated . . . but recognize nothing can come close to the grief and inexplicable pain her family and loved ones must feel.”

Members of Harris’ Steel Horses Motorcycle Club in Brownsville were stunned about the loss of their friend.

“Everybody is deeply saddened,” the club’s president, Darryl Nathan, told The Post. “It’s a big loss.”

Nathan said Harris had attended the club’s events and became inspirational as the first African-American woman to join the American Motorcycle Association racing group.

“It was a great accomplishment,” Nathan said about the designation that allowed her to enter AMA races. “She’s only been riding five years. But she had that passion.”

During a 2015 interview, Harris told Black Girls Ride Magazine that she was “everything people never saw in this sport.”

“Sisters on the track are few and far between,” she said at the time. “I want to show them that there’s more for them to be exposed to. I want to get the kids interested in the experience.”

Monday’s stunt involved riding over ramps and down the steps of a downtown plaza, according to witness Nathan Kramchynski, who works on the seventh floor of Shaw Tower, where the shot was being filmed. The office worker recalled watching two successful rehearsals of the stunt on Monday before it went tragically wrong.

“She lost control really quickly,” Kramchynski told the Vancouver Sun. “It happened in a split second.”

“Deadpool 2” has been filming in Vancouver since June 26. Production has been halted following Monday’s tragic death.
