Burglar takes iPhone, laptops from Bronx pol’s office

A brazen burglar broke into Congressman Adriano Espaillat’s Bronx office overnight Friday and stole an iPhone, two laptops and a digital video recorder, police said.

A building employee discovered the office at 2530 Grand Concourse had been burglarized upon arriving Friday at 8 a.m. The employee noticed broken glass outside of the building and found that the office had been ransacked, cops said.

The suspect allegedly broke in through a rear door and entered a music store in the basement of the building. He then made his way up to the legislator’s office and lifted the items.

Nothing was reported missing from the music store, police said.

The Democratic congressman represents The Bronx, Harlem and Inwood regions of the city.

He is the first formerly undocumented immigrant to be elected to Congress.
