A jilted lover is on the run after torching his ex in a fit of rage, according to a report.
British expat Gary Aredale was heard screaming curses at his former girlfriend, a Vietnamese woman, the day before dousing her in gasoline and setting her ablaze Monday in her Hanoi tailoring shop, Philippines Lifestyle News reported.
More than half her body was burned.
Benjamin Evans, Aredale’s neighbor, told PLN that he heard the crazed man shouting at the woman Sunday, “F–k off, get the f–k out, f–king slut!”
Evans said he’d assumed Aredale was “just another expat splitting up with a recent crush.” Hours after the attack, his wife bumped into Aredale while he was leaving his apartment, PLN reported.
“We now know that he had already committed this awful crime and must have come back to his apartment and grab his passport, money,” Evans told the outlet.
