‘Vampire Diaries’ star turns down apartment after ceiling falls on her head

Vampire Diaries alum Nina Dobrev found out the hard way that even luxury apartments aren’t all they’re cracked up to be.

While house hunting downtown, Dobrev toured a $2.15 million two- bedroom, two-bathroom apartment at 178 Bleecker St. in Greenwich Village.

“She loved the apartment,” a source said, adding that there would be more than enough room for her to share the apartment with her adorable rescue pup, Maverick, a half border collie and half Australian shepherd.

But when she made a bathroom pit stop, a chunk of the ceiling fell on her head.

“We’ve had lots of problems,” said a real estate source. “Pipes broke, covering people with water and two people got stuck in the elevator. Then a piece of the ceiling fell on Nina’s head while she was on the toilet.”

Even then, she loved the unit so much that she still considered making a low-ball offer, knowing that she’d have to gut renovate the whole thing. In the end, however, she didn’t make the offer and the apartment was taken off the market.

Dobrev’s broker, Rachel Bakhchi, of Siderow Residential Group, could not be reached for comment.
