Bet on the rising Buccaneers to best inconsistent Steelers

When the NFL schedule-maker put this Week 3 game on “Monday Night Football,” I don’t think there was any idea it could turn out to be the game of the week.

Here we have the Buccaneers, who are 2-0 after two outright upsets, hosting a Steelers team predicted to be one of the top Super Bowl contenders but which is off to an 0-1-1 start. (And don’t forget Bucs starting QB Jameis Winston hadn’t yet been suspended when the schedule came out).

While Ben Roethlisberger and his talented skill players show flashes of brilliance, they’re still not playing well enough as a team. Meanwhile, Ryan Fitzpatrick is an early threat to Aaron Rodgers for Comeback Player of the Year (MVP talk may go little overboard) and there’s no reason to think the Bucs can’t take care of the Steelers after manhandling the Saints and Eagles.

The play: Bucs, -1.
